Meet The Performer: Daisy Dalore

Well, with our Hothouse Flowers show only tomorrow we thought you’d like to catch up with one of Bluestocking’s ‘graduate’ performers from our classes… We have a feeling you’ve already ‘met’, so let’s see what she’s been up to…

This time last year, Daisy Dalore wasn’t even ‘born’ yet and January 2014 saw Daisy’s first steps into burlesque with taking one of our six week courses with her friend, the soon-to-be-named Damson Danger. We could see that Daisy had a real love for the artform and when she got together her first routine, Daisy Dalore was born! She made her debut at our Clwb Kaboom! show in Llanelli’s Ffwrnes Theatre in March and has been a busy bee since!

You might have seen her at our showcase in July, where, along with fellow course members, she debuted her second routine, the rather fabulous Mistress Of War (which really brought a proud tear to DeeDee DeLa Rouge and Lilly’s faces!) which we think honed her style, a mixture of high kicking from kick boxing, which she loves, fan work and glamour. Since performing at our annual theatre show in Carmarthen, she headed over the pond to compete in the first ever Belfast Burlesque Festive (which another of our ‘graduates’ Teezy Overeasy helps produce) and we were chuffed to hear her Mistress of War brought home the award for best costume and styling!
“What an amazing night with amazing people like Teezy Overeazy and Soup DeJour who organised the whole event!” Daisy says of her Belfast Burlesque experience. “It was nerve racking going to Belfast but so exciting to meet such lovely and talented people!”

So how does she feel to be ending the year back where she started (last year she was an audience member, this year she is on our stage!) “To be ending the year on a BluestockingLounge stage where I made my debut is like a cherry on top of a hectic but mind blowing year… Next year even bigger and more mind blowing!”

We certainly hope so! We love it when the girls on our courses go on to perform, and we love to see them doing their thing, wowing audiences across the country – and beyond!

You can catch Daisy Dalore’s Mistress Of War act at tomorrow night’s Hothouse Flowers show at Swansea Grand Theatre (if you have a ticket, that is!). Also, our new beginners and intermediates course, for those wanting a bit of the performance action themselves is starting January 13. Head over to the tickets section of http://www.bluestockinglounge.com to book your place.
